The app also supports personalized study with highlights, bookmarks, and notes, and enables social interaction by allowing users to connect with friends and share their experiences with Scripture.

Vast Bible Library and Audio Access

The app provides an extensive collection of over 2,500 Bible versions available in more than 2,100 languages. This includes widely used translations such as the King James Version KJV, New International Version NIV, New Living Translation NLT, English Standard Version ESV, NASB, and New Revised Standard Version NRSV. For those who prefer to listen, the app supports audio Bibles for select versions. It is important to note that audio Bibles require an active network connection and are not available for offline use. The app’s interface itself can be experienced in any of 65+ languages.

The YouVersion Bible App fosters community by allowing users to center their friendships around Scripture. Once friends are added, users can view an activity feed showing what their friends are noting, bookmarking, and highlighting. Users can also write their own prayers and share them with friends to pray together, or do Reading Plans collaboratively and discuss their learning.

Offline Reading and Accessibility

While much of the app’s content is accessed online, users have the option to download select Bible versions for offline reading, allowing access even without network connectivity. However, audio Bibles remain an online-only feature. Recent updates have focused on improving accessibility, including enhanced screen reader compatibility across audio controls, navigation, and Reading Plans, and the addition of accessible color options for red-letter text in the Bible Reader.
